Question & Answer
I have a car loan that was written off, but still own the car. I want to make a deal with collection company for title! How to I approach collection company that bought debt?

The two most important rules when dealing with a collections agency are to never give access to your bank account and always get deals in writing. Payment should be made with a certified check or money order and do not pay until you have it in writing. The next thing you need to understand is that most collections agencies are scum and the employees use rude tactics to get paid; so don't hesitate to be rude right back. One last tip, if you are looking to settle for a fraction of what they determine as owed, you will have the best luck towards the end of the month.
